Terms of Service & Safety Agreement

1. Intermediary status. Mulaqat is a matching platform (an intermediary as defined under Section 79 of the IT Act, 2000). We do not provide dating services ourselves — we facilitate introductions.

2. User responsibility. Users are fully responsible for their own safety, conduct, and judgment before, during, and after any interaction. Mulaqat does not perform background checks beyond the verification steps described during sign-up.

3. Public meeting mandate. All meetings arranged through Mulaqat must take place in a public, well-known location, such as a cafe or common public space. Meetings in private residences or secluded areas are strictly prohibited.

4. Age declaration. By submitting an application, you certify that you are 18 years of age or older. Providing false information is a breach of these terms and may lead to a permanent ban.

5. Liability waiver. You agree to hold Mulaqat and its team harmless from any claims, damages, or legal issues arising from your personal interactions with a match.

6. Messages from us. By applying, you agree that Mulaqat may message you on the Instagram account you gave us. These messages cover your application, payment, match, date details, reminders, and the outcome of your date. After your application or date is closed, we may also occasionally send you a short invitation to try Mulaqat again. You can ask us to stop these invitations at any time by replying "stop" or messaging us in the chat, and we will stop them. Messages about an application or date you currently have with us will still be sent.

Privacy Notice

All personal details shared with Mulaqat, including your verification photos and video, are kept strictly confidential and accessed only by our review team for the purpose of introductions. Your information is never shared, posted, or disclosed publicly without your consent. Read our full Privacy Policy.

What we collect and why

We collect the details you enter (name, age, height, college, city, Instagram username, your quiz answers and, for girls, your chosen day and time), the photos or video you upload to verify your identity and age, and, for boys, whether your activation payment has been received. We use these only to verify you, find you a suitable match, arrange and confirm your date, and contact you about it.

We also note how you heard about Mulaqat (for example a friend or Instagram), so we can understand what is working. This is used only for our own planning.

How long we keep your information

Your verification photos are used only for internal verification. For boys, once the validity of your application has ended, or a refund has been completed, your details and photos are deleted from our system 20 days later. You can also ask us to delete your data at any time by messaging us in the chat, and our team will take care of it.

Disclaimer

Mulaqat is a preference-based introduction platform, not a dating service or a guarantee of any relationship outcome. We do not promote, enforce, or influence relationships in any way. All interactions and decisions made after an introduction are voluntary and based on mutual consent.

Privacy & Safety

Any in-person meeting is recommended only at public, well-known locations such as cafes or common public spaces. Mulaqat does not force, monitor, or supervise meetings. Participants are solely responsible for their own decisions before, during, and after any interaction.

Match Policy

Mulaqat does not guarantee a match. Whether you are matched depends on several factors that are not fully in our control, including the balance of active girls and boys at a given time, the city you are in, how well your preferences and personality fit with another applicant, and whether your availability lines up with theirs. We introduce two people only when we believe it is a genuinely good fit, so some applicants may wait longer than others, and some may not be matched within their validity period. You will receive match details (time, date and venue) only after a match has been confirmed by our team. Match Timeline

Meetings happen only with mutual comfort and agreement from both sides. Every meeting is a friendly first introduction, based on availability and shared interest.

Validity

For boys, your application is valid for 10 days from the day your profile is activated by our team, unless we tell you otherwise. A girl's profile stays active until she has a date or asks us to close it.

Refunds on the activation payment follow our Refund Policy.

Who we are

What we collect

Details you enter: your name, age, height, college, city, Instagram username, your quiz answers and, for girls, your chosen day and time.

Verification photos or video: the photos you upload so our team can confirm you are a real person and 18+.

Login details: your Instagram username and a secret PIN. Your PIN is never shown to anyone.

Payment status (boys): whether your activation payment has been received. We do not collect or store your card, bank or UPI PIN details.

How you heard about us: for example a friend or Instagram. This is used only for our own planning.

Why we use it

Only to verify you, find you a suitable match, arrange and confirm your date, and contact you about it. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see it

Your verification photos and video are seen only by our review team and are never posted or shown publicly. When you are matched, your match sees only the details needed for the introduction, such as your first name and the date and time. We share nothing else without your consent, unless the law requires us to.

Services we use

To run the website we use trusted providers: Supabase (database, photo storage and server functions), Cloudflare (delivering the website) and Google Fonts (text style). Your information is stored with these providers only so that Mulaqat can work.

How long we keep it

For boys, once the validity of your application has ended, or a refund has been completed, your details and photos are deleted from our system 20 days later. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see Your rights below).

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email hello.mulaqat@gmail.com and tell us your Instagram username, or message us on Instagram, and our team will take care of it. We aim to reply within 7 days.

Keeping it safe

Photos are kept in private storage that is not open to the public, and access is limited to our team. No website is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and fix problems quickly.

Adults only

Mulaqat is for people aged 18 and above. If we find that someone under 18 has applied, we remove their application and delete their information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page. Last updated: 20 October 2026.
